Just in case you read this…

I haven’t been writing in my blog lately… due to lack of time, but if someone happens to visit…

Morning Sea

Let me stand here. Let me look at nature for a while

the morning sea and the cloudless sky,

bright blue and yellow bank, everything,

beautifully and profusely lit-up.

Let me stand here. And let me fool myself that I see them

(I saw them indeed for a moment when I first stood here)

and let me not bring here my fantasies, my idols of pleasure.

C.P. Cavafy

The interpretations of the universe start at the seashores of Ionia and then raise universal thinking into the purest essence of knowledge and life. They tame conflicting psychic forces and shine brightly in a cultural and intellectual horizon, the like of which the world has never known.

For forty centuries the Aegean Sea has flown in our veins.  Our hearts are a tiny dew drop of Aegean Sea in summer time, when the moon sanctifies the surface of the waters.  In our Greek memory, emphasizes our character, our speech, and carves our ideals and our dreams.

And now I lay down my humble confession of faith:

I believe in its miraculous blossoming that spread from a salty root and cast its shadow over the whole earth.

I believe in the liberty and democracy in which it taught me.

I pray that it may illuminate and console us.

Worth It Is!
